International Antroposophic Conference

"The Urals: the Border, the Crossroads, the Meeting"

is being held within the activity of International Public Organization "Antroposophical Society in Russia" and is one in the series of the anniversary events devoted to the 100th anniversary of the First Russian Antroposophical Society (1913) and 90th anniversary of the Genereal Antroposophical Society (1923).

To take part in the conference we invite members and friends of Antroposophical society, those who is interested in the antroposophical approach to the understanding of human being and the world.

The main aim of the conference is deep study from the point of the Spiritual Science the theme of border and meeting in different possible aspects:

Bodily and social borders,
Border from the point of Spiritual science, the Threshold,
Border in the spheres of pedagogic, medicine, curative pedagogic and social therapy, arts and art-therapy,
Border as an opportunity for the meeting,
Meeting as awakening feeling

Why this theme is the most actual in the Urals?

The Urals is the border of Europe and Asia. Along that border there extended the spiritual border that divided Europe from Asia in astral world for many centuries. People living along that border nowadays have special task before the whole mankind. As Rudolf Steiner says in his lecture «Gnostic Doctrines and Supersensible Influences in Europe» (Dornach, 19July 1923, GA 225), They have to learn to recognize astral spiritual creatures affecting people.

The Urals is also geographical and geological border. It is a unique old low mountain range extended directly from North to South along 60th meridian, crossing several climatic zones. On the other side of our planet it continues in the North-American Mountains.

The Urals has its own distinctive history and culture, that is reflected in tales and myths of that land, in traditions and architecture of towns and villages. The urals is not only the border, but a very active crossroad of different cultures and nations.

Our conference has a form of Tagung, where in addition to the main program of talks we suppose several conversational groups and art workshops.

Participants will have an opportunity to experience the main questions of the conference with the help of painting, social painting, eurithmy, movement and music.

In the program of the conference there planned full day excursions to the most interesting places of Nature in the Middle Urals and half a day excursions around the city.

And we are happy to introduce two theatre premiers on the tales of the famous Ural’s writer Pavel Bazhov:

And made specially for that conference the first eurithmy play
